Over the past year, we’ve taken part in a community project based around the River Holme. We’re celebrating the success of this project with a day of talks from industry-leading experts on all things river-related.
Chris Dean, Head of Programme Delivery, Moors for the Future Partnership, talks about Saving the planet in the hills above Huddersfield:
In good condition, the moorland environment has the potential to reduce the risk of flooding and can make a massive contribution to removing carbon dioxide from the air we breathe. One of the easiest things we can do to benefit both the planet and people is put the blanket bog landscape of Huddersfield into good ecological condition.
