What are you good at?
Is there anything that you need help doing?
Why not iShare?
iShare is the Holme Valley’s developing timebanking initiative.
iShare Timebanking is a simple way for people to help each other out by exchanging their skills, time or things they enjoy doing. For every hour you give, you earn an hour in return. It’s that simple!
We are looking for local residents to help to shape iShare timebanking and get it off the ground across the Holme Valley.
Why not come along to a meeting on 16th January 2013 at 7.30pm to 9pm at Holmfirth High School to find out more?
Everyone is welcome, all are equal. No matter what you have to offer iShare timebanking needs your skill or expertise!
To find out more or to confirm you are coming along or if you have access requirements for the event please contact Viv Slater at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone or text to 07717712577
We hope you can make it and we look forward to seeing you!
What is iShare Timebanking and how does it work?
iShare Timebanking is a new way of getting jobs done without currency being exchanged.
With iShare timebanking you earn credits for the time you spend helping other members. One hour of support earns you one hour in return so you can “buy” an hour of a particular service that you need. For example you may need help with fixing something or grass cutting etc.
The beauty of iShare timebanking is that if you don’t necessarily require credits back for yourself, you can donate to a friend, family member, someone of your
choice or simply leave them in the bank! For example, you could walk someone’s dog for an hour, and then donate your hour to the elderly neighbour next door so
that they can get some help with their shopping.
iShare timebanking provides the opportunity for this through working on a basis of reciprocity – everyone has something to offer and neither age nor mobility need
exclude anyone. This kind of exchange is not new, and has traditionally occurred amongst families and friends for many years.
iShare timebanking aims to strengthen our community by bringing people together and developing support for each other across the Holme valley.
