Holmfirth is a fantastic place to live – very atmospheric place and beautiful countryside, its hard to find anywhere in Britain to go on Holiday that has better views !! my favourite location is the Picturedrome where I can see lots of different Bands and can easily walk to the Venue (but not walk back – if you know what I mean)
I can find a new feature in the view from my garden every day. If I need to look a little further a walk on to Cliff is good enough. The ride back on the bus from Holmfirth to home just lifts the soul, but for friendship and a good chat anywhere in the valley will do.
All of us who are lucky enough to live in this beautiful part of the country know the stunning scenery and trails so well and are always delighted to be able to share them with our visitors to the valley. Shops – we’ve got large ones to small independent traders with unique products and markets. Walks – we’ve got miles of them, up hill, down dale, round the reservoirs and along the river side. Quirky corners with cobbled streets. Characters? Plenty of them! Good old fish and chips, or an international feast to tempt the palate, washed down with traditional local brewed beers or visit the vineyard in the valley for some first or last of the summer wine… Holmfirth – a great place to live, work, explore and enjoy.
Holmfirth is a wonderful, community spirited, artisan gem of a town, nestled in amongst breathtaking scenic hills and valleys.
I am being very diplomatic and declining naming my favourite place to visit. However my children just love The Potter’s Den – Norridge Bottom . There is certainly something of interest for all who visit. Whether it be the local cuisine, the wonderful variety of local artists, the local beers or the more upmarket cocktails to sample, not forgetting unbeatable Northern humour or the stunning architecture & surrounding views. A fabulous place to visit!
Having lived all over the country, I find Holmfirth has the perfect mix of rural and urban. I can do all my shopping in the lovely town of Holmfirth, then I can be alone in the beautiful countryside whenever I want. Mmmmm perfect.
There is always something going on, and during the summer the festivals are brilliant., they attract locals and tourists alike. There is huge amount of places to explore for the walker. I still find new places and things I have never seen before. A place I am proud of and love to live.
Holmfirth is a fantastic place to live, always something to do and somewhere to go. The best town in the north for sure!!!
